Yeah, I think we might be getting that setlist at Tramlines - plus OU, Something Changed, and A Sunset, if Hawley's up for it.
I think Help the Aged was always unlikely (the 'audience sings that one lyric' thing might not work so well when not indoors) but I was hoping there might be a twist in the tail. And there might still be, but I think on the whole, probably not. All the same, I'll be hoping for a slice more of His 'N' Hers. It may well be the last time I ever see them.
But it's crying shame if this beefed-up, nine-member-and-extra-strings Pulp doesn't ever play one of the long talky ones. I mean, it's their biggest ever homecoming gig, so what better occasion? It'll be a tremendous shame if it doesn't happen. I wish Jarvis had the appetite for Sheffield: Sex City or Wickerman,. We weren't all there back in the day to hear them!

Hi!
The concert at BBK Live was incredible. Although it was short for me.
I think they had 10 minutes left (they had 1.40), which could have been used to include "Something Changed" or especially "Tina" in the set.
Jarvis was very entertaining, speaking in Basque and Spanish and handing out chocolates.
The rest of the band seemed to really enjoy the concert.
Many young people who had never seen them before were in the front rows, and in general, even people who didn't know them well seemed to be enjoying themselves.
I find it hard to think about the band taking another break considering the great moment they're experiencing, so I really hope for a proper EU tour at some point.
Background Noise is not even living up to its name. More of a forgotten whisper, it seems
It does seem a little ironic that having passed the live litmus test which Jarvis sets for new songs before recording them; Background, My Sex and Hymn haven't got a look in since More was born. I know you can only play so many but they're three of the strongest tracks on the record in my opinion. Ah well...
I also thought OU has proven itself in illustrious company and doesn't deserve dropping. But to stop pissing and moaning for a sec, it's great to see Acrylic's new lease of life. And I'm chuffed that Slow Jam is holding its own too although I think it should be played later in the set. A bit nuanced as part of an opening salvo imo.
Hope the Swiss rolled with it all and they all had a ball.

I wonder is Jarvis too self-conscious about not getting the high notes for the "Funny how it all falls away" part. Outsourcing it to the audience might feel like a good joke to him for a few times but maybe he doesn't want ongoing reminders of his abilities/lack thereof!

The audience singing it might also just carry less in the open air. Or he might be worried it won't. I had a feeling it might end up ditched for that reason.
