Should anyone be interested in seeing Jarv's Gallic hero (and fashion inspiration) Michel Polnareff, he is still going at 80y.o. and he has a show in Hammersmith on 3rd April.

There are worse things you could do on a Thursday night.

Ooh, nice one, I never would have clocked that. Can't believe he's still going and if it's his first ever show in London I guess there's a good chance one or two of Pulp may be there.

I had a little listen to some of his stuff after hearing Pulp's version of Le Roi Des Fourmis.

I really like this one, Ame Câline. Have even butchered it on the piano while trying to work it out...

I was allocated Row Z but I can't go. Too much work and Hammersmith is too far. Enjoy, hope you recognise one or two from your exchange trip to Lyon in '80!

Very enjoyable evening! Felt like being at Paris Bercy for a gig. Started at 7;30pm and ended before 9pm. I normally get in at 9pm! Lots of latecomers, no support. Would have had a few more post gig beers but father in law was taken ill and I had to head over to his place.

Fair play for going, did you recognise any songs/more than you thought? Did he have a full band with him? Meet with Fuss Free?

Just looking at the setlist and see that he played Ame Caline. Annoyed with myself that I didn't go, now!

More than I thought, my days in Paris must have unknowingly exposed me to plenty of French chansons.  Yep, full band, but no strings.  Sounded pretty good.  I wouldnt have met anyone as I arrived dead on 7:30pm for curtain up.

Dont want to be morbid, but seeing Polnareff taken off stage by a couple of helpers reminded me of seeing the same with Brian James a couple of years ago at the same venue.  After The Damned played err The Last Time.  Hopefully Michel has a few more years.  One surprise was that there were a lot of young people in the audience.  All French. And no one from Lyon in 1980
