The All Seeing I album "Pickled Eggs and Sherbet" which features Jarvis (as both a writer and vocalist) is being remastered and rereleased on 25th April. A (pretty decent) remix of "Walk Like a Panther" has already been released.

It looks like there is a second CD, not sure if any of those bonus tracks are connected to Jarvis in any way. Some of them sound like they may be different takes from songs on the album.

Interesting, this probably would have passed me by, cheers for posting. Never properly explored this project outside some of the singles. I repeat - why Jarvis never performed "Walk Like A Panther" at any of his solo/Jarv Is... shows over the years is a mystery to me - any given crowd would lap it up.

Liner notes by Jarvis...any chance he could do the same for a reissue of his own *cough, cough* WLL deluxe...

The reissue has its own website with the below selling point - the record marks Jarvis' road to post-Hardcore redemption.

I bought it on the day it came out. Other than the songs that involve Jarvis, "No Return" and "Plastic Diamond" are pretty good. The rest is electronic dance music. There are two bonus instrumental tracks after a lengthy silence but they really weren't worth the wait. It's quite a varied album though.

Jarvis had probably forgotten about his involvement with this album until recently. He did, however, perform "Walk Like a Panther" with the ASI on Top of the Pops in 1999 because Tony Christie was unable to attend.

Well it's the last time he had a top ten hit, not the easiest thing to forget!

He dont perform songs from other part of his career, i think, its because in his mind : one act, one set of songs belonging only to that act. The other ones should not mix.

So its either Pulp, Jarv Is, solo or relaxed muscle. And Collabs should only be sung with collaborators.

Make sense.

He did perform some Pulp songs such as "His 'n' Hers" with Jarv Is. I think that they also performed "Mary" as well which was a Relaxed Muscle song.

Jarvis' last venture into the top 10 was the "We Love Life" album but in terms of singles, yes, "Walk Like a Panther" was a pretty big hit. I remember that there was a bit of discussion on the Pulp mailing lists at the time around how it charted higher than the three singles that Pulp released in 1998.

There used to be an mp3 of Walk Like a Panther taken from the TOTP performance. Would anyone have that to share? I listened to that all the time.

I was sure I still had that, but I can't find it sorry. You probably already know this, but it's on YouTube if that's any help

Interesting article here about the genesis of the project, Jarv's involvement and how it petered-out. The Britney Spears thing is mental.

This was released on Friday (April 25th) and I noticed over the weekend on my Spotify "New Music" recommendations, a new type of audio popped-up - narrated liner-notes!

And who better to do it than Jarvis (it reminded me of being pissed-off that the b-sides to his early solo singles were kids short-stories like "The Mouse, The Sausage and The Frog" or whatever it was... It felt a bit "Hey, I'm a Dad now, everyone. Let me show you how fun it is...").

Anyway, this makes for interesting listening (and reading, if you buy the physical reissue), with mentions of his activities with Pulp in 1998: https://open.spotify.com/track/7p0VMRinpNHliAOOt2LhvU?si=3fff739f32634289

It was quite an interesting listen. The bonus tracks are either instrumentals or alternative versions of songs from the album so unfortunately, nothing "new" from Jarvis.

Ordered a copy from shop here. Hope to have it next week! Was there maybe 1999-2000 a radio show (kind of like the John Peel takeover in 97) featuring All Seeing I and Jarvis and others. I have a memory of using Real Player to listen on my dial-up and holding my dictaphone at my computer screens to 'tape' it.

Oh Internet 1.5 how primitive you were...

It's a shame that they didn't include the Jarvis vocals version from TOTP on this reissue. I prefer his voice to Mr Christie's.
