Unlikely I will. Flights are expensive because it is a public holiday Friday and I think it is half term at schools. If it was midweek, I would have gone and stayed up all night like I did in November when I went to watch Ireland.
All of this year's dates are so far off-limits for me due to work commitments.
Perhaps I'm being a bit too optimistic in thinking that we will get 2 or 3 brand new songs from a forthcoming album. Think of the 1999/2000/2001 shows. We can dream.
At the very least, hopefully "Background Noise" and "Hymn of the North" will reappear having been tweaked in the interim.
If that's not going to happen, I'll settle for "The Fear".
i'll be there! everything crossed for the fear returning to setlist since my number one wanted track of all time won't ever be returning if you ask me <\3 hope to see some of you there!
Something tells me they played Seconds and HnH in the 2011 /2012 tour?
There's been a fair gap since Hogmanay so it will indeed be interesting to see if they play something different. I wonder if we may get another new song, too.
Standard set with encore of Joyriders (sounding beefier than last year) and Glory Days. No Adam Betts. Candida wearing glasses. Mark teased "The Fear" when Jarvis did his "We've played everything!" schtick before Common People.
Very happy crowd. Great show as per.
Yeah, really glad they played Joyriders, I hadn't heard it live since my first ever Pulp show (Dublin 2001, WLL tour) !
Controversial but I could take or leave never hearing Razzmatazz live again - I just don't think it ever sounds nearly as good as the recorded version (although at least on this reunion it's not slowed-down).
It's not a song that should see Jarvis reach for the acoustic guitar/playing rhythm on electric guitar.
He needs to be living the torrid sentiment of the song instead, hands-free...
