...who is actually who?

OK, so Nick, Candida and Jarvis are obvious. But the others are a bit harder.

I reckon that from left to right, it's
Nick - Candida - Russell - Steve - Mark - Jarvis

Russell isn't patterned like the others because he'd left the band. His silhouette is just black. And Steve is taller than Mark who's more likely to stand at the back in Pulp photoshoots.

For the longest time I suspected the three central men were different (Steve - Mark - Russell) so I'm not quite sure? But I think I have it the right way round now?

Yeah, as you initially said: Nick, Candy Russ, Steve, Mark, Jarv surely? It's what I've always assumed.

And I know a lot of folk don't like the design of Hits but I've always dug it. Maybe a bit too similar to We Love Life - I prefer the autumn-leave'd American artwork for that album.

Has the TV advert of this ever emerged on YouTube/online?

I remember looking out for it at the time during ad breaks on ITV & Channel 4. Maybe Universal were tight with paying for TV spots and it only got shown a little. The chart position perhaps bearing that out. Really sad to think the guy featured in the ad died only a few months afterwards.

I definitely remember seeing it at the time but I don't think that it has surfaced on YouTube.

Apparently there was also a TV ad for the "Countdown 1992-1983" compilation but I don't remember seeing that at the time.
