Up for the former. Want to catch some puffins on Saturday (just with my eyes, not by the arms/mouth) on Saturday so I might skip Sunrise.

Just for heaven's sake don't take an air rifle to the magpies.

And don't follow that local tradition and jump off the cliffs, not in a million years.

We'll come and say hello, got to drive back to York so piss-up is not really feasible, but a swift half might be in order.

I'm driving too (and staying with aged relatives so probably can't have a late one anyway). We'll see if I can show my face at some point!

Promised the missus I'd take her to Bempton Cliffs the morning after (that'll be an achievement) but I'm sure I'll see some of you near the front of the queue? Still trying to decide how early is sensible.

Looks like they're all gone now. I put a tweet out that Nick then retweeted, so hopefully they all went to genuine fans.

Edited to add: No, my mistake. Had changed to 'Currently unavailable' but now offering the option at least four. Maybe a few more returns? Good luck to anyone after one.

Bullet bitten. Bought a box office, plus trains to/from York. Going to be pretty ghastly all-nighter + subsequent long day in Bridlington. Therefore, may need to take edge off, at least so much as the budget allows. Pissup strategy may be best hope of doing so.

Good man! (Or Woman/Human)

Apparently they've been soundchecking at the venue this afternoon. Shit's getting real, folks!

Man's grand, cheers ! Looking forward to meeting people - I'll be the lad in the glasses who looks like he's too young to be allowed.

Fucking hell, Pulp are really actually soundchecking. I'm crossing my heart and toes and arse and hoping they'll play Lipgloss...

I won't be there but I'm praying nightly that they play "Deep Fried in Kelvin" and "It's a Dirty World".

I can dream.

Not sure I'll make it to the pub tomorrow, but I'll endeavour to look very much like I did when I was on the telly, so come say hello if you happen to spot me around the place!

Well, I barely slept from the excitement! Which is a bit crap considering I'll be up in Brid all night...

Coffee. Lots of that in order, I think. Two sugars would be great...

Yeah, me too. Sadly, I don't really do caffeine. On a cramped train to Brid at the moment.

From Nick's Twitter, it looks like they've done soundcheck again. He seems pumped.

Btw, should we post a separate thread with the setlist and gig discussion so that folk don't see spoilers?

No, checked into my accomm just down the road from the venue but fairly zonked so toying with trying to get an hour's kip.

Unfortunately, I've turned on the telly in the room and am finding Come Dine With Me re-runs being as addictive as ever!

Sorry not to have met up with anyone! Would've been up for a pub trip but wouldn't have really been fair on my aged host who was already going over and above in putting me up and ferrying to and from the venue.

That was a very good do. Jarvis was in fine voice. More actual singing than 2011/12 I'd say.

Best T shirt I spotted was undoubtedly the Daily Mirror Justice for Jarvis one! (And the unexpected Wind-up Birds one, but that's more niche...)

If anyone wants to get a coffee or something tomorrow let me know, planning to have a leisurely wander round Brid.

Jarvis absolutely in peak voice. Jesus christ. Some of that was as-good-as-studio, not even joking. His movement and presence - incomparable, amazing. Better than any expectation.

Nick was just monstrous on the drums - properly bashing away.

Candida underpins everything and Mark continues to be the real engine room, trying to be inconspicuous but really he's responsible for some of the most tender moments (Dishes) and some of the most raucous (Sunrise). Also he did flash a smile at me at one point, when I gave him a wave :)

Best song? It's easy to just pick the final song, but gun-to-my-head, Glory Days takes it. As a Gen Z-er, its lyrics have aged exceptionally well. It sounded absolutely colossal tonight. Jarvis's performance sealed the deal for me.

First Time was very warmly received. The crowd recognised Babies from a single Dmaj7 chord. Underwear has grown to rival the biggest hits for stature. Weeds and Weeds II were glorious - I'm so glad they're revisiting WLL! After You getting its debut was special. It was all special. So very fucking special.

Ah sorry we missed you, spotted Eamonn at the bar. My phone was nearly flat and my husband put it in such a mega power saving mode that I was struggling to get it to do anything at all.

Great to meet Fran & partner again and Lipglossed/Sam - the bright new hope of Bar Italia who will hopefully keep this place running and full of life post-2050 (coincidentally which is when we will eventually hear the We Love Life demos ). Hopefully you didn't have to kip under some park bushes in York?!

And a pleasure to finally meet Mr Mark Sturdy for the first time this afternoon, after all these years #i'llrememberthefirsttime #live on

This morning, still coming down from the gig, I went out on the Yorkshire Belle to spot the puffins but the fuckers were hiding, only saw a handful, briefly. Plenty of gannets but c'mon, puffins are clearly Pulppeople (well, Pulpbirds).

Now at the station waiting for my train back south, a bit worse for wear. Only regret is that I didn't have time to get fish and chips. It's been a brilliant 24 hours in Bridlington though and has kind of reminded me that my favourite holidays are actually short city/town breaks in a new place where you see a gig of an artist you love at a quirky venue and then sample in some of the local culture before bogging off back home.

Yes, sorry about that.

I was a bit late to to The 3 Brass Monkeys due to my phone sending me in the opposite direction. I then went straight to the Bar because I was desperate for hydration, but seemed I was invisible to the bartender who served everyone around me first.

My phone also got terrible reception in the bar so it took another 10 minutes to sort out their wifi access in order to check the msg board for updates. By the time I could check in with the msg board crew I was probably too late to find any of you. I did search around for Barcroft, but to no avail.

I thought The Monkeys had a bit of an intimidating townie vibe and I didn't really feel comfortable there by myself, I left but was drawn into the lounge across the street called "The Garden", where they were exclusively playing Pulp on Spotify all night, so it became a kind of beacon for wayward Pulp fans. Met lots of people there including the Mexican fan club.

We closed that place out then led a group on a Pulp-fan takeover of The Appollo, which was a bit like the Misshapes video tbh.

I did, ultimately, see the sunrise on Bridlington.

I was looking forward to sleeping on the trainride home. Unfortunately network problems let a series of missed connections, and a 8 hour epic journey back to London. Via Sheffield, fwiw.

Glad we weren't the only ones who ended up in the Apollo - due to the nonexistent taxi situation!

3 Brass Monkeys was shutting by the time we rocked up and we'd ended up elsewhere beforehand but it was great to be in a town basically taken over by Pulp people. Felt like a really good atmosphere

It did have a townie vibe, yeah. I went up to the bar and was waiting for about a fortnight! In the end, a proper unit of a guy actively pointed at me to get me served! They played Common People, but yeah, didn't feel very Pulp.

Didn't think much of the bar at the venue, either. I was waiting a long while for my pint while someone took the card terminal for a little walk and a natter! Then the tap died out mid-pour, and I was so desperate to rejoin the crowd (which had grown a bit thicker) that I just said "that's ok" and took what they'd poured me! The only non-Carling pull was John Smiths...

The Garden sounds nice, thankfully I wasn't around for The Apollo. I did notice that it was karaoke night at the pub across from the Spa... I was tempted biggrin

I would love to say, thanks again to Fran and her partner for the lift and putting me up for the night, and therefore sparing me my rather mad plan of just hanging about for a few hours. If nothing else, it would've made the next day a bit of a horrible slog. I decided that Pulp was worth it, but also putting off sleep might have rather affected my memories of the whole thing. It was a bit stupid to be honest! I said I'd done worse, but to be honest, that might have been me putting a brave face on things (trying to tackle it with the attitude of 'well I'm a student, students do things like this'...)

I got my poster back unscathed too. Went to the National Railway Museum the next day and did my best Russell Senior impression by sitting on the Shinkansen trying to look artistic.

Eamonn, did you see any puffins? By all accounts there were gannets too - and townie gulls...

Jings, I've missed an entire page in the thread.

Ah cheers Eamonn! I'll do my best haha

Puffins are the most Pulp seabird, sorry they were elusive. I really enjoyed the short time I was in Bridlington - there's something nice about just discovering a new place and having a stroll around it and whatnot.

On the subject of puffins, I accompanied the missus to Bempton Cliffs on Thursday afternoon and yes they were sadly rather elusive, mainly gannets as Eamonn said...

... but she did manage to spot one. Beautiful creatures.

Oh, wow, great shot! What a creature. I love that built-in sorrowful expression!
Next time I'll try from land/the cliffs rather than at sea/a boat.

Did see some dolphins at least, including one show-off who did a majestic leap into the air.

Oh wow Puffins - adore adore. I turn 40 next year and for the last few years had this idea of going to Iceland / Westman Islands to see them. Not so into flying these days so staying at a koala sanctuary instead. Completely off topic I know.
