Does anyone know something about the 1988 "The Day That Never Happened" tape video recording or what happened with the video? It's weird to see it in the 2012 Pulp life death and supermarkets documentary and not officially released... Please if someone have information about it please put the word out
It would be wonderful to see it in full but it's highly doubtful. Maybe if you tell Nick that you'll remaster it for free, he might ask Jarvis/Mark for a copy for you!
I don't think anything ever happened with it. Jarvis took the raw footage with him to London in 1988 and used bits in the Death Goes to the Disco film, but in his own words "There was no way that an "in concert" type of thing was going to work" (due to the concert being a shambles? And/or maybe some issues with the filming??) so presumably that's all that ever done with it.
If the original camera tapes still exist it'd be so cool to see some kind of edit, but I can't see much likelihood of it happening. Then again, if 30-odd years has softened Jarvis' initial horror at how the whole thing panned out...

And isn't the audio recordings a bit scrambled and incomplete from the mixing desk?
Considering there were 2 cameras in operation wouldn't they have picked up a cursory audience live recording?
It's a real shame this event hasn't been picked up and edited..
Except for the clips included for the Dgttd film promo..
Yes, according to Mark Webber it's the engineer's headphone mix, so it includes moments where he solos particular instruments to check the sound, etc. Whether that's the only recording I don't know - as you say, maybe/hopefully there'll be some sort of audio on the camera tapes too.

I have some new info about this, the admin of the chilean fan club stayed with Jarvis in the backstage and interviewed him a little bit, Jarvis said that there are two copies in existence and one of them is in his house. hahaha
