Did anyone else see the livestream or were you there? I have to say, if I was there I'd be a little miffed that they had to censor the lyrics for 'Running The World' for the telly! Why not just play it last & cut the feed?!
New songs in the set... 'This Is Going To Hurt', 'Proceed To The Route' & 'Lockdown'.
'Lockdown' feels like it has a lot of potential but I could do without being reminded of the subject matter just right now.
In case this comes across as me complaining... I am! The set was too short & censoring his protest song for 'The Man' at Glasto of all places... well that can just fuck off.
Thought it was an adequate amend tbh, paticularly allowing it to be aimed at the majority-male US Supreme Court, made more sense. Also, plenty ofnkids and families still about that time, seems totally reasonable to be.
New songs particularly Lock Down (Locked Down?) were great meandering behemoths, the band is really honing it's style and are sounding tight.
I've got the stream downloaded if anyone wants it for archiving purposes. I'm sure I can convert it to be just mp3 too.
Loved the new songs - first time I'd heard lockdown and Proceed - I have to say I said to my friend that it was brave to use that as a subject. The lyrics are some of Jarvis's oddest ones yet.
Also, I notice there is a new t-shirt in the Jarv Is webshop if completists haven't noticed...

In the USA so only got to see maybe 3 song video clips posted by fans online. Didn't get to hear Lockdown or Proceed. Very curious! Also, what was brave and odd about the lyrics? You have me extremely intrigued. Assuming something more than the actual Lockdown. lol
Well... I'll be honest, the first time I saw it, I was at work watching it live on my phone (I was on a break!). I've watched it back again properly just now & I must have missed a few bits due to buffering or getting distracted... it was better the 2nd time around.
Lockdown is a crazy song. I like the end bit with the harmonies.
I always admire how many wristbands Jarv has on his wrist at Glasto. He's a proper punter as well as a performer.
Also fond memories of Pulp walking out on that stage. Christ it was 11 years ago... Christ.
