It's an absolute cracker, this track. I've always wanted to hear it based on the description in 'Truth & Beauty', and it has certainly lived up to expectations in my opinion. Thanks for sharing!

Yes! I know you had your qualms about 'releasing' this, but I absolutely adore this tune. Thanks for sticking it out there. I think the gorgeous track far outweighs any amateurishness in the performance of it here.
And one day, maybe we might hear the studio version. But I'm not sure it could be as warm and joyful as this.
But seriously, great to hear this - meaning that the early holy grail demo of the 1982 Rotherham demo is now at least fully represented in live recordings from the time.
Also, notable, like on some of the other early 80-s live songs to come to light in recent times that the distinctive synth sound is prevalent and underpinning everything. Odd in a way, given their then far-away future as synth/electro pop maestros, that they would discard it for much of the rest of the 1980's. Barely six months on from this performance and Jarvis was smitten with Leonard Cohen and focusing on earnest and gentle acoustic pop. For better or for worse? Arguably the latter.
