I am currently listening to The Flux bootleg from 1999... and thinking to myself - I reckon I could make this sound better - with my tech and musical mixing know-how!
It's got all of those awesome unreleased songs on it too and is a bit different from the Pulp we tend to love...
I'll see what I can do with it - Obviously - I'll post the results here... but thought i should ask...:
a) is anyone bothered?
b) I've had various copies of this bootleg since 1999 - but my currrent version cuts out during 'Blue Girls' - i think i got it from a post on here... Does anyone have a copy that doesn't cut out during 'Blue Girls'? If not then I'll try to mix it togetther anyway - just thought it might be worth asking before I try!
a) Yes
b) There is a copy where someone has manually repaired the gap in "Blue Girls" by copying and pasting the same part from earlier in the song. As far as I know, there isn't a copy without the gap because that's when the bootlegger turned his tape over
"Nerb" - It's Northumberland speak for "nob" - I'm not from Northumberland - I just like it. OK - I'm getting on it now - but bare in mind - it might be shite!
I've done it anyway - I'm not sure if it sounds much different to the origianl to be honest. I really just wanted to do something with the "new" songs they played and 'Blue Girls'.
i think it might sound a bit warmer and I've tried to get rid of the "essing" on Jarvis' vocals and maybe soom of the room echo on the whole thing.
I've left the last 2 tracks - This Is Hardcore and Dishes - more or less the same as the original
I'll upload it somewhere shortly and provide a link... as i say, you'd have to be pretty hardcore to tell the difference but I like this bootleg and it was fun messing around with it!
I've sent all the tracks to the BarItaila2007 account - if anyone knows how better to share them - so be it - My only request - They are all big wav. files and that's the way they should stay!
Gave it a listen and it's definitely an improvement! Thanks for the hard work.
(On another note, I had never listened to the full thing before so I didn't know about this more guitar-based version of This Is Hardcore, it's great!)
To be honest - I forgot there were so many old track rearranged on this before I set out to do it. I thought it was basically the "new" songs plus Blue Girls.
I've made it a bit easier to download here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bcbb1tsqtgru93f/AAAr6g3wJqkv9FOP9_Ai9hNla?dl=0
but I'll have to delete it in a couple of days as I will need the space on my Dropbox.
