Anyone else watched the Jarvis n Candida Bargain Hunt? It was hardly world class telly but was mildly diverting and the less said about that painting the better.
Think there's a thread about it further down. Just watched it this evening, a bit meh all-round I thought. No one's personality really shone through, I think Rowetta came across the most natural. Jarvis seemed a bit self-conscious and Candida didn't really speak much. It was also sad to see the condition her hands appeared to be in, I imagine any further Pulp shows would be very difficult for her.
As for Bez, still a ducker and diver after all these years, what a cheek getting his girlfriend to ramp-up the bids/win them!

It was quite funny, harmless entertainment. I'm not really into antiques in general, but at least they're up front about trying to make a profit out of it, unlike Antiques Roadshow which really winds me up. That painting was so Jarvis, he's posted close up's of it on his Instagram now. He was never going to resist that. At least I have learnt something. I was intrigued by the name Cafe Veterok in the picture and discovered it means "light breeze" and was the name of a dog that was sent into space in the Soviet era - spent 22 days in space, poor thing. Candida did look pretty rough. presumably it's not just her hands that are affected, I thouight she seemed to be generally moving awkwardly, though they don't dwell on one shot long enough to really tell something like that. She also looked pretty shy, they both admitted they were out of their element with actual antiques as opposed to jumble sales and charity shops. I imagine TV producers feel the need for a male-female team, so it had to be her if they were going to do it. It's nice to see any of them really in any context.

Well that was the weirdest thing ever. Maybe Jarvis liked that painting because its kinda like those John Currin paintings? Also Jarvis didnt want to where the regulation blue team polo shirt.
