Funny you should mention about too many songs being played....When Pulp played Brixton not long after the Hyde Park Wireless Festival (I think I had met up with PQ??) - Misshapes was played as last song, and I was bored to absolute SHIT ! I dont know why, it was an unusual phenominum for me at a Pulp gig. It happened once again at the Sheffield Arena gig where we all got the christmas cards...during the encore, I think it was Razzmatazz...I got bored ! Too many songs can be a bad thing.
Jason - you mention a number of the obscure early numbers, would you care to describe them for us ?

I can't say I have felt like that myself, but that said it has been over 15 years since I last saw them live. I do, however, think that familiarity can breed contempt. For example, there was a point where I wouldn't have cared less if I never heard "Babies" or "My Legendary Girlfriend" again.
Quality reply Jason lol. I was half asleep when I wrote that message, obviously 80 percent on them songs I know, it was Zhivago, and Must I Evolve. Can picture your description of certain songs from the It era with "Nice Horn".... :)
Scotty, there was a recording from a recent Jarvis gig shared on here a few months ago (includes "Must I Evolve?" and others), message me if you need a copy.
Yeah, I mean I've never been mad about he arrangement of Razzmatazz live - the guitars are slower and less subtle and I'm not keen on the slow-handclap intro to get the crowd involved but even when they played it at gigs in 1993-94 it never sounded as good as the studio version (maybe Phil Vinall should have done His'n'Hers?) but I can't imagine being bored standing through that or much less so Misshapes which sounded mega 2010's stylee.
10 song main set and maybe an encore.
Those recent Jarv shows were just right.
That said, perhaps if he didn't prattle on so much, he could add another 5 or 6 numbers?
But then it wouldn't be quite right without the banter would it?
