The most elaborate flyer there ever was!

I finally got to satisfy my urge to dig out the folded up bit of paper from the Magic Bag last night. Didn't know what to expect, but it's the most intricate flyer I've ever seen...and all for a supporting slot at the Timebox gig in London in 1986.

It consists of a small blue flyer for the gig and a sheet of A4 paper folded three times. The A4 paper contains the handwritten word 'Pulp' in marker pen on each of its squares (the squares being made by the folds). The blue flyer is then stapled inside the folded A4 paper and can only be seen if you break the staple open.

As it was in Russell's collection, presumably it was Russell's. How many of these would they have made...and for a gig so far from home? Could they even feasibly have given many out to potential concert goers? How much rehearsal time (or Russell's own personal time) was used for making even ten/twenty of these?

I'll uploaded some photos, but it really is a labour of love...especially if you try and picture it on any scale!

Bloody hell. No wonder he used to drive the rest of the band mad occasionally.

Itvworks, though. Certainly a flyer yous look twice at...but just can't believe it would have been of much use in That London.

I wonder how many group rehearsal hours were lost on this sort of thing?
