The Portfolios - just what should be included?

Dear all,

I'm going to be restarting the Portfolios soonish, but was considering rejigging some of the earlier volumes' sleeve notes (just so it's obvious what's on there and what else isn't available from certain sessions etc.) but then it struck me...what do you guys think should be on it?

Essentially, do Heroes of the Beach (Jarvis, Steve Genn, David Bocking, Nick Taylor, Mick Shaw, Greg Thomson) singing songs including Refuse to be Blind belong on there? Likewise, how about Fish and Breadcake (which is essentially a pre-Russell Pulp with Jarvis, Tim, Magnus, Mick Paramore and Nick Taylor again)? I have access to a gig each by both and also some rehearsal tapes from the former.

Or would it disrupt the flow a little?

  Let me know your thoughts!

Thoughts:

1) Get it all out there.
2) I know what you mean about disrupting the flow. Most of the music on these things doesn't really have much to do with Pulp, even if it's some of the same people. Maybe some sort of satellite volume / series for the completists, with one or two highlights on a volume in the main series too?

Mr. S. I think it can probably accommodated in the "main range". There's only two gigs by HOTV and Fish, one (I think) guest Russell appearance somewhere, three or four Nick Banks pre Pulp efforts and a handful of Webber things. Is there anything extant by Trolley Dog Shag?

Either way, I think it will probably all go on. I think Jarvis' arsing around with these two bands of nutters shows an interesting bridge between the last It sessions and the Russell stuff that was going to happen shortly afterwards...

There certainly used to be a TDS website somewhere with quite a few recordings. Rehearsal stuff mainly I think. They've got a track on the Dolebusters compilation too.

I see that 'Vast', Real Cool Time and Business Boys are all in some sort of circulation. Tempting to include them if I could dig them out.
