Hi, everyone - sorry I haven't been here for a while. I notice that Sky Arts are screening a half hour Pulp documentary followed by Pulp Live (at the Brixton Academy). I wondered if anyone knew which Brixton performance it is? I dimly recall a performance at Brixton from Christmas 1995 being shown previously, but I am hoping that it might be a later one, maybe one of the 2011 ones. Is that too much to hope for? Does anyone remember cameras at those gigs?
Secondly, a couple of other related bits of Pulp news. I went to Sheffield in October which happily coincided with a DJ set at Plug with Jarvis, Steve and an unannounced performance from Richard Hawley. Too Many DJs were DJing in the main room and when they started everyone exited the room Jarvis and Steve were DJing in, so I guess it wasn't them the punters came there to see.
Finally, I have seen Leo, the sometime tour guitarist round my neighbourhood a couple of times, so I suspect that he might live locally to me. Hope I can get into conversation next time. WIll report back if I do.
You can't tell from the listings what concert it is, but my general impression of Sky Arts is that it has a fairly limited selection of material that it churns out on a regular rotation, so I would imagine it is likely to be the same one that has been on before. If I remember rightly, I got mildly excited once when the same combination of programmes came on a while ago, only to get quite annoyed by the documentary for some reason that I have succeeded in erasing from my memory.

It is the usual 2 programs they show, the old Brixton one, DC era with the cutouts on stage. Not a bad gig, but I would love to see a reunion one broadcast live!
The documentary is 'Discovering Pulp' and basically a run through of everything we already know about the band, told by various music aficionados and journalists, ending on the release of After You after the reunion gigs, pondering the future of Pulp. I enjoyed it when it was first shown.
Thanks both. Would love to see either of the Brixton reunion gigs. The one I went to (first night) was amazing, but the second one sounded a cracker too. I dimly remember some cameras being there but no idea if anything came of it.
I remember there being cameras at Brixton too - I think there were also some the Royal Albert Hall, doubtlessly on behalf of the Teenage Cancer Trust. That intro to Hardcore would look ace on the silver screen
