I hope it doesn't mean that its not going to happen, if it does, can i suggest 'an audience with....style tour? Great name for a board game as well 'freak out the squares. Anyways, just sowing a handfull of seeds...
I'd imagine a book signing in Sheffield at least. Or most. Maybe the delay isn't in R's writing, but they've decided it's a 'pre Christmas market' sort of book...and they have to wait til pre Christmas again. Or maybe it's to tie in with Pulp releasing a top 10 single next year!
I cannot wait for this! It's still listed on Amazon UK as being out on October 1st. Anyone heard anything else about it? I'm thinking I'll probably have to order it online as something tells me it mightn't make it into the mainstream shops across the water to Ireland. It's certainly not listed on the websites of any bookshop here. Was just having a browse through Russell's Japanese tour diary last night. It's interesting that it's starting with the 2011 reunion tour. I'd love to know what he has to say about the topic as in a way it seemed like something Russell wouldn't be interested in doing given he had said bands should be over in a bang once they make it and you should be banned from stage once you're 40 I am so glad he did do it though as like many a Russell acolyte it just never felt the same when he left and the tour was so tastefully and gracefully done.
Edit: Oh and I second the audiobook remark! Love that accent

Just a few days until the literary event of the year. Google is not bringing up any reviews or associated new news about the release but ever dependable AcrylicAfternoons has tweeted pics of his advance copy including a list of the chapter names. As Russelly and Pulpy as you could hope for:
I too was worried that the whole project had fallen apart with no updates on the release to be found over the last few weeks. Good to see that it does exist now (Giles also tweeted a picture of his copy, looks great, hardback and chunky).
He's also giving away two copies for the best tweeted Russell pictures.

So, I managed to very briefly speak to Jarvis about this yesterday at the British Library where he was doing his radio show before the Brian Eno lecture as part of the John Peel Annual speech.
He said he had got an advance copy through his work at Faber and was pretty anxious about what our outspoken Mr Senior may have written "cos Russell can be a bit... (*wrinkle-up face* emoji)". I asked him whether there was anything potentially libellous that he, Jarvis, may have found issue with(!). ''There were a few things that made me wince'' but apart from that it wasn't as bad as he'd feared. He also added that it was through Russell's review of Pulp on his The Bath Banker fanzine that they'd originally met so there's always been a writer in him. With that he had to ''zip off'' to the other part of the library for the talk.
I'm a bit stupid excited about this. Russell is brilliant and I'm sure his book will be excellent. But why isn't he doing something for the Off The Shelf, Sheffield's very own prestigious literary festival which starts on October 1st?
