Just been to Forge Dam for a walk with the missus and the "same press in plastic letters on the price list and scuffed formica topped tables" have been replaced by one of those trendy blackboards and some rather boring new tables. The ridiculously tragic child's toy horse ride is still there though. There were a couple of school trips there today but none of the kids seemed interested in riding it. I'm glad I took those pictures now.
The menu beside the blackboard is press-in plastic though, in't it?
Did you feed the toy horse ride to listen to his sad tune? The caff was closing when we went for a visit the day after the premiere so we could only peer-in and catch a quick look. Bit of a creepy looking thing, isn't he?
The photo is of how it used to be. It has now lost its mad ramshackle approach to cafeteria operation. It now sells real coffee, served in an actual cup, and granola bars! Sadly, there are now no threats to eject you from the premises or charges for tap water.
