How the NME would dearly love for the band to just tell them yes, we will make new music if you'd just stop banging-on about it (bless 'em, through countless editorial and journalist changes the NME are never shy with their love for Pulp).

I am now in heaven. Thanks for posting, Eamonn. I knew it was a good day when they started playing the Disco 2000 video in the hairdressers this afternoon. It was a sign! My black armband is now OFF.

Yes, what did it actually say? I have trouble getting hold of the NME, the only shop I have found in my area that stocks it is the evil Tesco monstrosity. All the quotes around it made it sound like all the usual speculation was being damped down, as usual, but also with a bit of the usual vagueness thrown in for good measure.

So - Candida Doyle of the group added: "We're just not that kind of band. If you step back into that environment where you want to release records, then all these complications step up." .... filling in the unspoken bit surely goes ... "and clearly we can't be bothered with that."

Then - Steve Mackey of the band said when asked about the possibility of a new record from the band: "I know you're not going to believe this but we honestly haven't talked about it."

Does the print article say anything more concrete (as if)? Is it anything more than promotion for the film?

Apart from thise bits of new album talk and Jarvis saying that the film company want it to look like it's the end, Jarvis mentions writing new solo music but hating working alone. There's not much else, a bit of talk about the bands history (the Brit awards is mentioned again - yawn)

Candida talks a little about her arthritis which surprisingly only Jarvis new about apparently. (the whole section about Candida is  quite touching actually.)

they awkwardly address Russell not playing then quickly shut up about it.

Theres a little interview with Florian and the rest of it is pretty much filler, if I remember right.
