Just wondering what peoples' thoughts are about the interview mentioned below? D'you think it took place before the Stage One gig, or afterwards?

Pulp Portfolios demand chronological perfection, so I need to know where to sequence it!

The interview was done at the same time as the Stage One gig. It was filmed by the same guys. Maybe not the same day as they're wearing different clothes. Very slightly afterwards then?

Might have been the afternoon before, would make more sense to change into your stage clothes than go get changed straight after the gig.

Except! Jarvis didn't get to the gig till 5 minutes before stagetime (as explained on Party Clowns).

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure I read it in your book, Sturdy, didn't I? Hadn't he got stuck on a train on his way to London from a stag do in Liverpool or something?

Indeed...blimey, I know we're anoraks but Poirot's got nothing on this level of detective work.
I picked-up the vinyl of Party Clowns in Rough Trade on Record Store Day. Pretty poor editing on the back, Jarvis apparently came straight from a "stage party" in Liverpool.

Me, too! It tickles me so much when Jarvis says in that Tim-Nice-but-Dim accent:  "Yeah, right. Okay. Fancy a pint of lager?" and the look of amusement on his face is hysterical.

Eammon, thank you sir for the link. I suppose somewhere in a Japanese tv vault the whole Stage one performance may exist? Including of course 'space/babies & MLG..

That was what I wondered. Apparently the Stage One stuff was routinely sold to this particular TV company in Japan, which is where the interview came from. I mentioned this to the guy who filmed it (and put out the Party Clowns CD) in the hope he'd be able to get in touch with them with a view to recovering the footage, but don't know if he ever did.
