You will - I'm sure - remember the Portfolio project (http://www.pulpwiki.net/Pulp/PulpPortfolioProject) started by myself before fatherhood arrived? Well, I think I have enough time on my hands now to crank this up again, to an extent.
I think the next step is the 1991 gigs, and I just wanted to check that nothing new has come to light since I last knew the ins and outs of everything! Anyone care to vet the below? Not sure how much of the below was already 'out', and do let me know if I'd be treading on any toes by 'releasing' it!
Most importantly, there were applications (!) from Weej and Voxpop to help out with the cover art and uploading for future Portfolios. Does this offer still stand, and does anyone else want to help? Am happy to upload the files, but can't really spend the time on the presentation anymore!!

I'm afraid I wouldn't be much help and I know only too well how much time kids can take up, our two year old is a real handful and I can't see us getting much rest in the future. Hope someone more able can help you out though!
Its a real shame nothing has appeared from '88-'90.. The obvious choices, Sheffield Leadmill '88, i'd dearly love to hear this in its entirety and the separations demos from '89. And of course anything else that may have been recorded from this time. anyways, lots of lovely stuff from '91. Glad your back Stephen.
I've got a second kid on the way and might not have much time for cover designing (as you can se, I'm struggling to do the Pulp Songs blog) bu will do a bit if needed.
Welcome back Stephen! We've missed your banter and your portfolios!
Rob - I see what you're saying about just getting the tracks out, but I wanted this project to be something a little more definitive - putting the whole Pulp legacy 'into order' as it were. By having chronologically compiled Portfolios I felt that that's what I was achieving.
I think it's also about trying to make things uniform and well catalogued for future fans who come along, too. Having seen the state of the various live/rare/bootleg tracks on trading/p2p sites etc. I just don't think it does justice to Pulp's enormous, and very satisfying, canon.
So yeah, that's why I like the idea of keeping it as individual 'CDs'.
Plus, of course, I like the idea of sending a package of said CDs to certain band members at some point to see if they'd like to contribute!
I'll upload files containing the March '91 Leadmill and July '91 Town & Country Club gigs somewhere over the weekend. I'll upload the template I used to use to create the covers, too. Give me a PM if you're interested in helping with the next two porfolios.
PS - and if anyone can furnish me with the best available August '91 Halifax gig, I'd be most grateful! I've downloaded it off youtube, but I'm presuming that's not the greatest fidelity source?
I see what you're saying Stephen, and you're right - your work in the past has made it much easier for me to get hold of all this stuff. I like it being in order too. I just wondered if the artwork was the problem, maybe releasing them with just a relevant band image of the time would do for now? Hopefully someone who isn't having a kid will come to your aid!
