Quick introduciton, I'm a big pulp fan and I work as an indie DJ in Sheffield, I'm quite fortunate that I get to spend hours playing my favourite music several times per week, and this passion has led me to start experimenting a little with the tracks I play. Nothing major, just tweeks here and there which will probably pass the casual listener by completely.
Anyway as an Indie DJ in Sheffield I end up playing Disco 2000 in many of my DJ sets. I've always preferred the Album mix to the the 7" single version as it packs a bit more of a punch. However I've often thought it is a shame that they edited out the spoken word bridge that does appear in the single version. (I'm pretty sure you can hear as Jarvis is about to start it in the Album mix and they just chopped it out, though it doesn't make sense they would have done that rather than re-record it properly).
Anyway with a spare afternoon today I spliced the spoken vocal into the Album Mix, I think it's pretty seemless and I will be playing this version in my DJ sets from now on. The youtube clip is below. I'm interested to hear the thoughts of the forum members with regards this along with your general preference of the Album vs the 7" version too. Thanks for listening :)
That's a good mix. I made a few remixes myself years ago including "That Boy's Evil", "Sunrise" and "FEELINGCALLEDLOVE". I will see if I can dig them out and get them uploaded
