Well. I would like to know, what he is doing. Is no one sad here, that he isn't on air on the Sunday Service? I really miss him and I wonder that no writes about that here.

I reckon we all are wondering what he's doing, but the problem is that Jarvis creates so much mystery and speculation that we are all exhausted from it.

I do, too, but maybe it's a sign of something good in the pipeline...

At least now I get out of the house on Sundays!

Yes, Jarvgirl, we are! I am having a Jarve-rest.

Very true... didn't think of that.

Self control it is then!

Does he use Gucci or do use Gucci?

During one of the Ask Doctor Pulp (a feature in the Pulp People newsletters) in April 96 Jarvis was asked his favourite aftershave and he said Gucci.

1996 was also the year that his mother donated one of Jarv's shirts to a charity auction...

Hi maidmarian

"Crickey!" is a quaint English exclamation of surprise, rather outmoded and a bit posh/uncool, although it is now used ironically or to be deliberately silly.

The word evolved from a need to avoid blaspheming, in this case saying "Christ!", like lots of English expressions are. "Gosh!" avoids saying "God!", for example.

When you watch films set in the '50s, these are the kind of words people say.

So when I said it to Jarvgirl, I meant it humorously.

As I say since June last year: This is the best English-Learning platform ever!

For Jarvgirl: This foto let me think of the song "I'm too sexy for my shirt"

Or is this joke old?

Glad to be of service.

What is your native tongue, maidmarian, if you don't mind me asking?

Exactly! The shirt is tiny as expected btw and has a little bit of lippy on the collar!

Hmmm. Very interesting. Wonder what the story there is?

Must be hard to find shirts to fit if you are narrow of body but long of limb.

Well, it was 1996, could be anybody's lippy!

It fits me which is ace but I have no idea what to do with it!

Yes, I can see that's a tricky one - how to have it on show without damaging it or without it looking weird.

Unfortunately, modern houses aren't designed to house holy relics!

This is true! what I really want to do is turn it into a dress but that would mean having to wash it.

...and if you washed it, it would lose value, both monetary (not that that's what you care about) and emotional. The key thing about the shirt is its provenance and you would be washing away all trace of it.

Maybe you should let some time pass before you decide?

(Sorry if I sound a bit older-sisterish).

No you're right. I just don't want it to just sit in a draw forever.

Yes, quite.

If you were to turn it into a dress, would you do it by, effectively, attaching a skirt to it? Or is it long enough already? I can't imagine it is.

I would attach a skirt. It is DEFINITELY not long enough! I could just wear it with a skirt I suppose. Probably not though, imagine if it got red wine spilt on it or something?!
