I really hope the last one is a tie - would hate to see either S:SC or MLG go out, but that's just how they came up, and if I start changing the draw then it's basically rigged.
I can't believe His n Hers has lasted this long, it's such an average b-side
Hmm, I think it's one of the strongest songs of that era and never understood why it wasn't on the album (are there any band quotes explaining that?). What Someone Like The Moon is doing on there instead I don't know.

I'd guess it's due to the lyrics and song being a bit OTT
Someone Like The Moon is actually a really nice song, reminds me of their earlier stuff. It took me a while to appreciate it though.

It's a very angry song, and I was 16 or so, so I loved it a lot, and still do. It's angry and funny and piss -takey and has so much drama AND set to a orchestra. I can't think of many more Pulp song it really compares to.
For me, it was kind of the instrumental key into getting some friends into Pulp. It was "that one between Common People and Disco 2000", and very much worth it too.
I know that won't much explain anything, but I think the band loved it too, being placed between their "two" hits on DC.
But aye, I'm also sad to see F. E. E... go. Not a concession, just stating my love for that too. Further, I actively dislike Joyriders and Pencil Skirt, so... hmm. I don't quite understand what I'm trying to explain!

I'm sad to see Wickerman go out but not unhappy to see Acrylic Afternoons go through. This is quite a tricky trio though, especially the first pairing. I'm a huge fan of the live Russell led She's a Lady but not so much the album version and to an extent the same is true of Pink Glove. Anyway, after all that waffling:
She's a Lady DYRTFT Styloroc (come brothers and sisters its time to kill Common People)
Death II
Babies
Sheffield: Sex City
Acrylic Afternoons
His 'n' Hers
I Spy
Pink Glove
Do You Remember the First Time?
Common People
Seconds
Countdown
This Is Hardcore
That's 12 tracks, and I want to cut four so we can have quarter-finals. I'll think about how to do this and get back to you soon.

Would it be too vicious to have 4 3-way ties? Either straight winner into semis situation or some kind of World Cup style top 2 go into last 8, winner A plays runner up B type scenario??
