Maybe what we need is a devilishly handsome fellow from the wrong side of the tracks who realizes that the privileged, sheltered beauty raised with silver spoons and gold forks and strands of pearls was full of sh-t?
Well, that's basically the plot of "My Man Godfrey". Won 6 Academy Awards including best screenplay.
I'll take Mike Leigh's "Catcliffe Shakedown".

Which Pulp song would make the best film, though? I'd go for either Being Followed Home, My Legendary Girlfriend / Sheffield:Sex City, I Spy or Minnie Timperley.
That's a really awful premise, after an intriguing headline. Also, why the sincere hatred for the video? I quite liked the video, disorganised dance routine and all.
Agree with "I Spy", that'd be a good one. Done in true Grim-British-Indie-Film style, all concrete, cigarettes and dry wit.

Oh, yes! "I Spy" would be brilliant. It's already like a mini-film in my head.
Been thinking about this long and hard, Jarvis's songs are already like little movies so I don't know if a film of one would work. Here's a slightly facetious idea; what about a Mamma Mia style musical using Pulp songs to tell the story of a hard Northern adolescence? It would be pretty rubbish I think. Maybe the Inside Susan suite of songs could make a good film?
