I need some Pulp fans to complete a brief survey for a media project I'm working on for college. There are only 9 questions (nothing very demanding, pretty banal stuff about your favourite Pulp album, what your hobbies are, that sort of thing) and it shouldn't take more than a few minutes. I apologise in advance for my silly misspelling of "Separations" on one of the questions. I also apologise for my first post here being based around asking you to fill in a survey. My posts will be better in the future. Probably.
Cheers to everyone who has taken the survey so far, it's very much appreciated.
Fran - don't worry about it, the more detailed answers I get, the better my coursework will look!
Ta for the avatar appreciation as well, I didn't know if it would work or not. Hopefully it won't get too irritating, having Jarvis continuously drawing circles on the left of the screen.
Unless, of course, it's written from the standpoint of 'My God, these people are a lunatic subculture'! In which case probably best to keep it to yourself. :)
Haha, no, I wouldn't be so cruel. Also, looking at the results, you lot are probably the most well-rounded bunch out of the lot! I won't post the whole thing, cos it's a couple of pages long and full of hastily-made pie-charts.
Here's a summary:
Based on about 45 responses, Pulp fans tend to be slightly quiet, possibly shy individuals. The majority have an eclectic taste in music, hobbies and fashion, suggesting they are broad-minded and open to new experiences. Fans consider themselves to be creative, even if their hobbies/careers do not involve the arts, as some take a creative approach to everyday tasks. In terms of fashion, Pulp fans appear to be individualistic, not following fashions and, in some cases, preferring to adopt a more unique style that sets them apart from the crowd. This is reflected in the most common reason given for identifying with the group - numerous fans said they felt they identified with the outsider aspect of the group's work, with the song "Mis-Shapes" being mentioned multiple times.
