That just seems to be what he's like though. if it had been Jarvis he probably would've rambled on extensively for each question, using the "talk a lot but say nowt" method. Except the last one obviously, they all follow the same script on that one don't they.

It's also nice to see Nick say that he enjoys playing, I know the Big Melt was different but they all seemed to be having a good time. Candida said she thought it was brilliant, and they all stayed around having drinks afterwards.
Short and sweet indeed! He's like that when you talk to him too. Most interesting answer was how much he seems to rate Alan Smyth as a producer and moulder of the Pulp sound. It's an unusual call, especially considering that Nick played practically no 'live' drums on the album he produced, but one that had me considering roads not taken. I wonder what an Alan Smyth HnH would have sounded like?
Yeah, a bit guarded and it must be annoying when answers to questions are shorter than the thoughtful questions but I guess there's summat to be said for directness.
"Plans" doesn't really seem to be in their vocabulary, unlike "surprised". It's great they can feel relaxed and just take the opportunities that appeal to them, a bit of a hobby that also pays well. Sounds ideal to me.

Do remember as well this was conducted a couple of months ago, so either Big Melt wasn't in the works then, or else it was...but was embargoed!
Thanks for the kind words, people. Glad it doesn't seem to anyone else that he was pissed off or anything! Glad to hear he's just a "man of few words" :)
I was also especially interested by the Alan Smyth line. Interesting reading. And the 'MLG was nearly played' bit. D'oh!
