Yeah, I remember seeing it. Quite bizarre - not the fact that they're fans, their second album is fantastic and betrays possible signs of Pulp inspiration but that they've unearthed an instrumental karaoke version of Razzmatazz! And it seems everyone else is hipster enough to nod along and pretend they're just as into it!
Looking forward to the new MGMT album. Don't write them off on the basis of "Kids" and that awful synth riff that runs through it or their other hits. They have a genuine talent for great pop music and the nearest-sounding to something like Intro you'll find among major label bands these days.
Maybe just over-played then...sometimes I find it hard to tell the difference. They do have far more interesting tracks though, I'd recommend the Congratulations album to any Pulp fan.
I think it got decent reviews in some quarters. Nice shout on Don't Stand Me Down, another classic. Was delighted I got to see Dexys during the touring of their recent, 27-year-follow-up to Don't Stand Me Down.
