I know I'm getting ahead of myself here but it's an occupational hazard on this board. Bands don't go on the telly to promote a two year tour THAT'S JUST FINISHED! Can Pulp really tour that same set around the UK/World for another year? If they can't (well, I wouldn't like them too) what can they play instead except new material?

I think it's a new album coming, I could understand performing on Jonathan Ross, releasing After You THEN calling it a day, but as you say this is rather bizarre. I think the 'greatest hits' era may have ended and we're moving into 'new album' territory!

They don't need a new album to keep the set lists interesting. Just less Different Class.

@Mark_Beech: Prince, Suede and Pulp comeback albums this year? Just spoken to a contact who is 100% sure of all three. Bowie watch out, you are not alone

Yes.  They have only played 10 UK dates since the end of the hiatus, and of those 5 were festivals (IoW, T, Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds) some of which were without people knowing Pulp were appearing.  Add to that 4 London dates and the Sheffield gig and the reality is a lot of people who would probably go to a local show but not have the inclination to travel haven't seen Pulp.   Should they schedule dates in Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin etc. then it is more likely to be the hits set than new material.
