Hmm. Remembered who they are, and I suppose it's not a big surprise and fair play to them for having something different at an arena show, but I can't help but be a bit disappointed. That's twice this week now.

I've just phoned the arena myself, and there is indeed an automated message stating Boxettes on at 7.30, Pulp on at 8.30, so yeah, two and a half hours. I thought I was being a girl detective but I've evidently been beaten to it!

Hmm, not looking forwards to that. I've heard a few of their songs and they're... nice but nothing memorable. Was hoping for Richard Hawley but it's probably for the best, I don't think I could have coped with that much excitement :P
I was hoping for a longer set than Mexico. However providing they do start at 8.30 so we should get 24 or 25 songs. That means The Boxettes will only be on for 30 minutes. Think this is going to be one special gigg.

I don't think poor old Jarvis could manage a longer set that that! He'd have to have the oxygen tank on stage with him...
I reckon he'll start getting cross as well. I don't think Jarvis really likes these massive homecoming shows too many all going 'eh, I remember when tha wa a lanky streek o' piss down't market, Jarv'. He was on rare, pissed off form for the Different Class show in '95.

Like how they were gonna play Last Day Of The Miners Strike at Magna...but then decided not to! Now that was a pretty short set now I look back on it. And they'll never drop any of those hit singles, probably 10,000 of the 14,000 at the Arena will only be casual fans.

I have heard certain hit singles so many times they can drop a couple if they need to for my liking. I'd hate to arrive home to the news that they were going to play some awesome rarity but they didn't have time.
Similar to this, I remember after one of the Brixton gigs last year, I was all buoyed with enthusiasm and dampness only to encounter a man on the tube who was sad. Why was he sad? "They didn't play FEELINGCALLEDLOVE" said he.
Although we had had Countdown, OU, Have You Seen Her Lately?, Wickerman, etc. etc. etc.
