"Radio 2 is searching for the UK's favourite number two single! We want to know which number two hit you think should have been a number one record.

A panel of music experts, including some of Radio 2's DJs, have compiled a list of around 100 classic number two hits, and we want you to vote for your favourite.

We'll be compiling your votes at the end of December, and then on New Year's Day at 2pm, Tony Blackburn will count down the Top 40 votes to reveal the UK's favourite number two single! The winning single will be given an honorary number one award from the Official Charts Company, live on the show."

I think you know what to do ---> http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/vote/top-number-twos/?

Surely Strawberry Fields Forever will win?

Surely it will be Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane.

I voted a while ago, though being Radio 2 I regard this as a pointless waste of my time, so I don't know why I bothered.

I think Jo Stafford was robbed by Al Martino in the first ever singles chart of 1952. I'm gonna give my vote to You Belong To Me and I think we all should too.

Isn't it all to do with their 60 year anniversary of the charts nostalgia thing that's been going on the last few weeks, hence songs from all the decades?

Came in at #16, just above God Save The Queen and a couple below Wonderwall.

Did'nt 'Vienna'  by 'Ultravox' win?  They we're so much better when 'John Foxx' was part of the outfit 'The man who dies every day' is magic.

That should have been fairly high purely due to the irony of that song reaching #2
