You can notice that HYSHL?, BCV, OU and Lipgloss were also as subs. They were soundchecked aswell. Also like in Paris they did an extended version of Live Bed Show and the reworked version of Party Hard (which may be better than the original)
They were great, top form really (ok it was my first Pulp gig ever so I have no point of reference besides the bootlegs) Jarvis amazed (almost shocked) me. In spite the heat, he was jumping and dancing and singing his arse off for longer than two hours. The rest of the band were really great too. The five of them seemed to be realy enjoying it. From time to time I had to close my eyes to concentrate on the music 'cause Jarvis is such a staring magnetic field. Sunrise gave me tears of joy! Unforgettable.
I hope their Sheffield gig would be their greatest, their hometown really deserve it. Cheers!
PS: Gossip time. Last night I've heard they would be going to a studio recording this afternoon. I've just shivered to think about a "Buenos Aires Demo Sessions"

He's looking pretty hot and sweaty in the 2nd photo in this gallery! I don't think you can ever fault him for effort. After the Reading performance last year, the rather youthful Radio 1 DJ hosting the TV coverage looked genuinely stunned at the energy level of the performance, presumably being too young to have seen them before. I know they are required to gush over every band, but that seemed genuine to me.
I love Mile End. I'm pleased it gets an airing from time to time these days. I wonder how, when & they decide if they're gonna use one or more of the "subs". I'm guessing if they have time they stick an extra song in or if they just reckon something else might go down better.
Yeah, I' ve seen so many vids. But seeing him live, trying to keep up with him (I think that's our way to show gratitude: putting as much effort and energy as the guys onstage) physically impressed me. The show was radio broadcasted so I think it's a matter of time to show up.
They might use the soundchecks as rehearsals too.
About our way to show gratitude (great find Eamonn!) that beard/face rubbing is disturbing even for Latin standards. Really, it looks like a vignette that could be taken from His 'n' Hers. Back in 2008 I had the chance to talk to him and said that he liked to play in smaller venues so people had the chance to touch his hair, so maybe was amused. I just think he was a little bit disoriented: I was not far away from there and when he just passed me by I said "Happy Music Day Jarv" with a V hand gesture. He just stared blankly. Maybe I'm weird too.
btw: Who's the guy at Jarvis right? Their tour manager? He was very nice yesterday and back in 2008.
