Is it not three years since we've had anything new from Jarvis? Seeing the discomfort there seems to be with new material being made by Pulp...is this it in terms of new stuff from JC as he looks towards his media duties?

I do worry about his musical silence and I often feel that he is in no rush to write and record new material, whther it's with Pulp or solo. It sounds overly melodramatic but it is a waste of a talent and yes I know he's touring the world playing the Pulp songs but gosh darn it I'd love a new album from him/them!

He did say he was pretty happy not too long ago, and rightly pointed out that doesn't often lead to great material

Yeah that's a bit of a funny excuse really. So, you're telling me he was miserable for all those years when he produced Pulp's greatest work or that no great art can be accomplished by someone in a happy place?

I'd argue that a lot of musicians can and have become rubbish when they become settled, old and happy! I'm not saying that's the case here though, hopefully there's still some great material left in him/Pulp. Ideally if Pulp were to split or remain an on/off live thing I'd love a more electronic/dance album from Jarvis.

Well, I tend to agree with you there as well but it does seem an incredible attitude to believe you can't do good work when you're happy just look at Nick Cave and Tom Waits.

Maybe it's just his get-out clause for laziness!
