I just got an email saying I've received four tickets for this - unfortunately the two other people who were planning to go with me have cancelled (I really shouldn't be going either but hey, I can go to uni any other day :P) so I have two spare. If anyone wants them I'll happily meet people there - the tickets have my name so we'd have to go in together.
Admission starts from one, put it also says that a ticket doesn't guarantee entry since they over allocate. Does anyone have any idea of what time I should turn up? I'm having a hard time picturing how many people might be there.

My tickets arrived earlier for Mr. Bacon. You'll probably have to get there at 1 or close after since, as you say, they over allocate to ensure that the auditorium is full. The Crucible is a large theatre if they hold it in the main hall.
Okay, thanks :) I was thinking about getting there at more around 12 but that might be over kill. I've never been to The Crucible so I haven't the slightest idea how many people will be there.
I was going to ask him whether, given his interest, he had considered directing a film. I thought it could have led on to a discussion about cinema and such like. Instead we got questions about Common People(!); did it really happen like that, Michael Jackson(!!); were you proud of what you did and Richard Hawley(!!!); what's your favourite Richard Hawley story. You may be getting the subtle hint that I didn't rate the questions.
Sounds like the same old shite he got asked at Chelts festival last October and most other Q&A's no doubt. He should grant something like that to Bar Italia people. We'd blow his fookin' mind.
I went too and also to the Steve Lamacq show after - met Jackie from here whos user name I unfortunately can't remember but she was lovely! Jarvis signed my book afterwards so I'm very happy. I was amazed at the amount of people running onto the stage during the news breaks and stuff to get things signed - the man's trying to work!
Hi Lauren- it's me (jackie) I'm more of a loiterer and voyeur on here than a 'poster' ....maybe this will be the first of many now tho.... Loved every minute of last Thursday but have to agree with everything everyone has said so far .., was disappointed that the questions were so lame....and was shocked that people were running up to Jarvis mid show during the news break to get autographs... Glad we waited til it was all over to have things signed and have a chat. It felt a little less intrusive that way .
Too be honest I lurk more on here than post :P The questions were a bit rubbish - bringing up Michael Jackson was so irrelevant, and as for the people running on stage it was so awkward when they went back on air and Richard was trying to introduce Jarvis whilst he was signing a pile of stuff. He was so lovely though, signing everything and waiting around after. It's always nice to know people you admire are nice people too :D

I take it nobody bothered to ask about future plans for Pulp?
Didn't really seem like a suitable question for the occasion. He was very bashful and self effacing about Pulp and I've never heard him talk about his father quite so much.
Bar Italia badges for December, it's the only option.

Hey, razzmatazzle are you the person who sat next to me for the Richard Bacon show and who I queued with for the Mother, Brother, Lover signing last year?
Saw119, was sitting in between Lauren and my boyfriend for the Richard Bacon thing....but went to signings in Manchester and Sheffield ... So our paths have probably crossed. We should all be made to wear something that identifies us to other Bar Italia forumites! I had glasses on dark hair and a leopard print dress ( nice and subtle!)
The radio people picked whose questions got asked....so the things I really wanted to know ...are the cruises the last Pulp dates? If not, Are the Glastonbury rumours true? Full UK tour for Relaxed Muscle? (ok that last one was a bit ambitious) etc didn't get touched upon ...you had to be prepared to ask question live on the radio and not everyone was comfortable with that ...
I definitely got the impression watching on the computer that the producers had probably roughly decided what they wanted questions about and then picked ones that fitted - not very inspiring, but then it is a mainstream national non-muisc station, so presumably they assume a relatively low level of familiarity amongst the wider audience. It was the asides that were more interesting, like the chat with the chap from Dronfield about his grandparents (paternal presumably?) running the Post Office, and as you say, he has been very relaxed about talking about his father lately, also in that Guardian interview about the Radio 6 show. The bit aboiut the spotting the Hairy Bikers somewhere in London and getting their cookbook for his mum was rather sweet too.
I was also amazed, as other people have already said, about the amount of people descending on him, and the other guests later on, in all the news/travel breaks. The video feed carried on through those with the news on audio. I was surporised the producers didn't ush them all away at least in time for them going back on air.
