Can anyone work out what Jarvis is saying at the beginning?

I tried to figure this out the other day but only managed to make out a few words and nearly lost my hearing in the process.

I've tried to isolate the vocals in the opening (the first 45 seconds of the song) using Audition, and I think it's made it a bit clearer to understand, despite the distortion.

It's unlisted on YouTube, so it isn't publicly available.

What I've managed to pick up out of it:

  • What d'you wanna do(?) (0:04)
  • 'Til it's too late (0:07)
  • Squeezing past(?) (0:10)
  • And it made a return(?) (0:11)
  • Chinese (music?) (0:15)

I've been trying to do the same thing with 'The Day That Never Happened', so I thought I'd give it a shot with this, too.

Wasn't that asked in 'Ask Dr.Pulp'.

"Tell me, Dr Pulp, what is Jarvis saying at the start of She's A Lady on His 'n' Hers?
Jarvis is talking about a dream he had where he came out of a tube station and there were big metal daffodils piping out ambient Chinese music. He can remember thinking "I wish Mark was here now 'cos he would really like it" !"

Edit: Never mind, Will already said that

Odd that you all hear "Chinese" in that line.

I have always heard that line as "Italians who ........."

Even listening to Salmon92's file, I still dont hear chinese?

Someone once asked about this in one of the Pulp People Newsletters:

What is Jarvis saying at the start of "She's A Lady" on His 'n' Hers ?
Jarvis is talking about a dream he had where he came out of a tube station and there were big metal daffodils piping out ambient Chinese music. He can remember thinking "I wish Mark was here now 'cos he would really like it" !

0:15 is "ambient Chinese music", I think. I can't work out much else.

I was lying down and grass was squeezing past (?). Then it made a return, there was some ambient Chinese music.
