Following on mere minutes from the end of 012 (which sits here - http://www.mediafire.com/?k2e23s6bfeoiei6)

In the minutes following the final gig by the 'Freaks' lineup, and following the reduction in the group from five members (at the start of the night) to just two (an hour or so later) Paul Mills of Premspeak fame got out his tape recorded and interviewed Jarvis and Russell about the past, the future (and a bit about the present) for around an hour. 14 minutes of this interview was released on Premspeak 1 (and was recirculated a few months ago), but the other 31 surviving minutes has remained unreleased...until now!

An absolutely essential document of the end of Unsuccessful Pulp. The next member to be recruited was Nick Banks, and within a couple of months, Candida was back on board, cementing the lineup that would eventually achieve world domination. Sort of.

Featuring the full 45 minute interview with J & R from November 1986, it's PULP PORTFOLIO NUMBER THIRTEEN!

Not a problem! Looking forward to peoples' thoughts.

Oh, and if anyone has any noise reduction software that actually works, please please think of part four of the interview...

Oh, and this is probably my favourite sleeve thus far. Thanks to Sounds Magazine for taking it and Giles for putting it online. Sums up the interview perfectly :)

Is the 'guy from Chesterfield' Jarvis and Russell keep talking about Mark Webber?

I always thought that, yes. Same as when Nick talks about "some kids from Chesterfield" re: Day That Never Happened...

Yeah, using an iPhone. Will these new ones still be up in a week or so? I'll either have the old one fixed or a new one by then.

Hopefully. Mediafire tends to keep files a little better than sendspace!

This is an absolutely fascinating time capsule. Anyone who hasn't downloaded it yet should!

Just a quibble about the date (and yes, I am painfully aware that I'm doing this in every damn thread at the moment) - I think it's a bit later than the night of the 8 Nov 1986 gig. At some point they mention playing "the 100 Club next Thursday", which was 4th December 1986, which would put this in late November. From other comments it sort of sounds like the "new" line-up is up and running by this point, so again that suggests it's a little while after the departure of Manners/Magnus/Candida.

I accept your argument. I must have missed that reference, and it just made sense to me that he would have recorded them straight after the 8/11 show.
