Could you be confusing it with O.U (Gone Gone)? It has a line "After the break up, it's just something you do to stop the night time from falling down on you"

No problem.. In any case i started the post with the wrong subject heading like the confused old man that i am. it was originally going to be about alternative or sub headings for already established and beautiful songs..Hence the "and then we went for rides".. anyways, cheers.
Was Fairground ever known by this title? I note from Paul Mills' tapes that he had "There's no Emotion" as "Holding Hands (That Hold You Forever)". Similarly, before Mark Sturdy interviewed Russell, the song 'Repressive Forkout' was generally known as 'Respect Her, Reject Her'.
I think its always been called "Fairground, but i do think "And then we went for rides" is possibly one of the greatest lines ever. And that the Freaks lp should have been titled as such. There is a lot of songs with different titles are'nt there? Suffocation song (they suffocate at night) Kettledrum (never-ending story) and many others as you know. And until someone can pin Jarvis et al down the 'unknown' song will probably remain unknown...
If I do get to go to the Two Tribes thingummy in Sheffield, I could consider playing it to Russell. Before I get thrown out!
Perhaps Tricia could/should have played it to Nick when she went to his pottery?
Speaking of which...with Jarvis having taken time off from Sunday Service (fuelling 'NEW ALBUM' rumours), would people expect Nick to really still be behind the counter at Banks Pottery? Seems a long way from where Jarvis, Steve, Mark and Candida live and - presumably - would consider recording...

I thought about this, but it was a Monday afternoon. It doesn't seem too farfetched that he might split his time and be there during the week. London isn't THAT far of a train ride from Sheffield after all.

I feel like I've missed something...
Nick doesn't actually work behind the counter does he??
I think he looks after the business now that his parents have retired so maybe behind the counter is only part of his day. He seems the most approachable in the band. If he wasn't too busy it might be worth asking him to take you to the old rehearsal room upstairs.
When I went he was on the computer behind the counter for a bit (still mad at myself for not asking him anything) and then he took the company van out and left the shop but I dunno what he was doing while in the shop.
