Nah, can't be. I don't think even the most generous of souls would consider the middle of July as Spring.

This sounds a bit like the conclusion after the Cheltenham book event last year when Jarvis said something about "maybe something in the spring". It's next to a very up to date list of festivals, July definitely isn't spring! Surely just a bit of older text.

I love the way is Pulp fans are hardend off to these kind of claims, even when they come from the band themselves.

The optimism is inspiring, but I do worry...!

Guess I'll get to go to my third 'last ever' Pulp gig then.

I hope it's in Sheffield again, I fancy a day out. But then, if my third 'last ever' gig is in Sheffield, how could my fourth 'last ever' gig ever live up to it?

Naaaaah, there'll have to be something more concrete than this. Isn't this usually the point where someone whose name ends with "-ixxie" arrives with a studio MP3 of Roald Dahl and gossip from some mate's barman?

It's just speculation. I don't think Giles knows any more than the rest of us, and to be fair at one point it did look like the gigs last year were going to be it.

Fairly sure that's been up there since the turn of the year.

...Ugh, but then again, they might, mightn't they? But hear ye: it'll be at the Leadmill, grimy as it is, and 70% of what they play will be pre-1995. And I will do anything to be there...

Nah this is old news this - look at it this way, Jarvis was recently quoted on saying that he would consider writing more pulp songs, now I think this "silence" from the band and Jarvis is simply because they are recording. I asked that lady from the Boxettes what was the role of Jarvis in the studio with her, she wouldnt say........ and the fact that Pulp equipment was in the photo.........

Im telling you .......there is new material on the way. The press have already said either do new things or fuck off in a nutshell.....and there are nothing pointing at a farewell is there.

yep this reminds me of the time Jarvis was saying there would be NO Pulp reunion either... Why they can't just be up front about what they are doing is a bit annoying, unless they are just completely indecisive all the time?

Didn't Jarvis proudly describe them as "a beacon of inefficiency in a rapidly streamlined world" or somesuch when they went on shore-leave in '02?

As opposed to 'beacon of inefficiency' I think managing yr entire and very successful comeback by twitter (no interviews etc) is pretty efficient and smart!
