Absolutely. However, I've already spent a fair amount on Blur over the years, and will probably plump for downloading the stuff I don't have. If there was a one or two cd 'rarities' thing released of all the previously unreleased tracks on there, I'd buy that. But not for £120...
Now that's what I'm talking about! Especially liked the transition from Quiet Rev to Grandad's Allotment. The latter does sound muddy, but in a way that makes the petition look stronger - we want clean, remastered versions of all these songs! I'd maybe let that fade into My Body May Die or something else before the ''here comes the rain'' bit gets too boring to the uninitiated. The running time for your medley is probably about right for a petition promo too.
I've no skills on uploading images and clips to youtube, but we have the audio nearly sorted. We can use some of Jazza's text for the image - maybe added with some pics of the members from 99-01.
Try using Windows Live Movie Maker Dominic. I've always found it very easy to use, you just need a series of photos on a slideshow with the music added on top and it's very easy to do.
Thanks Eamonn! I was worried GN went on too long compared to the others. Wasn't sure if I should include stuff like MBMD which had a proper physical release. SteveAW, I'm on a Mac which may complicate matters, or make them easier...?
one thing that might help is a proper stand alone link for the petition, rather than a page on the wiki site. I personally feel that having the link on the wiki feels like its just a bunch of fans trying to get songs released , whereas a new link would feel more professional. The new link could always lead people back to the wiki to 'learn more about PULP'.
Facebook page, and twitter would work too.
Just throwing in my 2 cents that I like the idea of a Facebook page as well. People who are too lazy to click the link to the petition might be willing to at least like a page on Facebook (or click "like" because their friend did). Also, not sure how it is in the UK but US companies looooove looking at Facebook stats.
I posted the video last night and it said it would take a few minutes to several hours before it appeared on the site. I thought it would have appeared by now! I was thinking of tweaking the video but that's not an option if it takes so long to upload.
I was going to email God is in the TV Zine. I have a contact there. Dunno about Drowned in Sound. I worry that one day before the event is getting too close to get these things 'published'. Maybe put it back by a week?
Well, if you want to make webzine editors aware of it and give them time to find somewhere to publish it, I think we'd need more than 24 hours between now and 'the day'!
Well, I think a webzine such as God is in the TV Zine (where the editor is a big Pulp fan) would run the story as a story - i.e. would happily link to the petition, but I don't really know the make up of any other webzines.
I went to a party many years ago which the editor attended. I have compromising photos. Thus I tend to get to plug things I want to :)
