For those interested, there is a Coachella live stream on Youtube. Pulp are subbing the main stage between 7:50 and 8:50pm Pacific Time (A.K.A 3:50-4:50am GMT) and the whole set is live on the stream! To those willing to stay up for this, I have a lot of respect for y'all. Hopefully there'll also be a highlights system or something!

Here's the link:

www.youtube.com/coachella

Enjoy!

So what are the chances that Jarvis will make a guest appearance with Mazzy Star?

In case you'd forgotten...

Pulp end at 8:50, Mazzy Star start at 8:50 on a completely different stage so I'll be surprised if he does!

Maybe he'll quickly run across or something... biggrin

The audio mix for this is just terrible, mind. Vocals are far too loud and absolutely no ambience/barely any crowd noise.

Been watching the stream this morning, it's just repeating the stuff from last night so Pulp should be on again at 1:10pm this afternoon!

EDIT: They're missing out gaps between sets I think so anytime within the next hour they'll be on!

Poor Jarv sounded like he needed a bag of Ricola. He must be exhausted.

I blame audio compression for that. Instruments and crowd sounded horrible too.

Do you remember trying to watch these live Internet streams in the late 90s? Sounded like a telephone call underwater with 1 frame every 8 seconds. It's come a long way but things can only get better!

And before that I couldn't believe that it'd be possible to get almost any concert in decent quality. Seemed impossible even with VHS :)

Ok I might be imagining this...but from the jimmy fallon footage and the footage from coachella... Jarvis seems to be 'acting out' and singing in an 'explanatory' way...like he is explaining and miming the songs to the audience as if they may not 'get it'. Does anyone agree? The performances just seem to be quite different for the american audience. Just my opinion of course. hmm..

Steven etc.

Not heard this, but your comments remind me of the Blur Brit Awards gig. It looked every bit as good as any Blur gig I've seen...but by God, the sound was appallingly mixed! It made them sound so shit...and people have since said it wasn't a good gig.

So gutting given it was the first time people will have seen them on TV in years, too...

Let's just hope the actual sound at Coachella was rather better!

Yeah...that was very weird. I thought Songs For The Deaf was a Queen of the Stone Age album.

Thought you guys might like this. A girl I follow on Tumblr just met Jarvis and Steve at Coachella:

tumblr_m2tc78TB7B1rt5upko1_400.png

according to her he said "I don't normally dress like this. I'm just trying to disguise myself."

a bright orange trucker hat might not be the best way to go about that, jarv...
