Many of you no doubt heard Jarvis' angry rant after a 'fan' yelled that he was 'boring' last night. That 'fan' was none other than our own Captain Tractor. Why had he done this? Well, upon Guitarist Richard being introduced, the Captain yelled out. He yelled 'Hawley!' Jarvis misheard. And ranted. All the while the poor Captain shouted 'I didn't say you were boring!' but to no avail. Poor shamefaced Captain Tractor. Let us not tease him. Much.
I've told the story on here before, so will keep it brief. He signed exactly the same thing in my book as he'd done on my FC album 3 years earlier - and I said out loud instead of in my head, 'Oh no!' (because I'd had a bit of a joke bet with a friend before I left, who'd said Jarvis would probably sign the same thing again). Jarvis looked a bit taken aback and mumbled that he only had a limited range.
Sorry to hear that. I ran into Jarvis on the streets of San Francisco back in April of '07 just walking around. I stopped him in the crosswalk in the middle of one of the main streets and asked if I could take a picture with him. He said "Sure, but we should get out of the street first. It's not a good idea to have conversations in the middle of a street you know." ...Needless to say I felt like an idiot. I know it's still not the same as having Jarvis think you said something negative to him and then have him rant on you.
