Interview with Russell in the Yorkshire Post. I haven't read it myself yet, thought you'd all like to see it.

Good interview, I always feel that Russell is very eloquent talking about Sheffield in pieces like these. I did note that the thorny issue of more Pulp isn't broached and there is also no categorical statement regarding whether he will ever return.

Fascinating! Some excellent quotes in there. "Tatterered remains of Stalin's army" indeed...!

Yeah, wonder if he considers this to be a full stop?

Well if he doesn't want to put it online for everyone to read for free I'm sure he'd get a couple of dozen sales off folk on here if he only sells a paper edition.

Edit: Just saw this on their facespace page:

Looking forward to the Russell Senior interview, any idea when it'll drop?

As ever, he's fascinating to listen to. I really hope Two Tribes is a success, that period of his life has clearly had a profound effect on him.

Any word on that fanzine interview he gave in Nov that was meant to be out by now?

I emailed the bloke who runs the fanzine several times to no replies. Maybe he's been sworn to secrecy... or maybe he just doesn't check his emails.

Sorry guys, was meant to post here that I'd asked the guy via FB, but i've had a real busy week. Couldn't resist asking as I'm really looking forward to the interview and he originally said at the end of feb. So hopefully we'll be getting it soon.

Indeed. Absolutely wonderful. And it reminded me today of quite why it is Pulp still need Russell. After he'd pulled out of the NME awards thing, I wasn't sure they should carry his reluctance anymore, but this interview reminds me of why they should!

I really enjoyed it too, now that I've actually had time to read it properly. I have never known that much about Russell beyond knowing he was very politically motivated.
