Here's part one of a 2001 interview with Jarvis and Steve about the recording of We Love Life.

It's recorded from German satellite channel '2 Rock', but I think the interview originates from an 'electronic press pack' which was distributed to the media - can anyone confirm that?

I'll upload more of it later.

I cannot view the video from work or on my phone but I have got a copy of the "electronic press pack" at home. If I remember rightly, it features song-by-song commentary and the song title is displayed on the screen before they start talking about it. I hope that helps.

Thanks Ian. In that case perhaps it isn't from there. Watching it I do think I've seen it somewhere else before though.

Was that electronic press thingy transcribed in one of the PulpPeople fanzines? The clips you've posted look familiar Will, I think they may have been on a disc I sent you at some stage. Can't view them at work (we all seem to be skiving!).

Thanx for uploading, that was pretty interesting. It's weird how Jarvis looks like a different person for each record. And he probably was inside as well.

Two more videos, I'll post them here rather than starting a new thread.

Short feature about Pulp on Bravo TV following the concert at Huxley's New World, Berlin (17th June 1996).

Unedited interview with Jarvis, parts of it are included in the clip above. Filmed before the Berlin 96 show. Most of this has probably never been broadcast.

EDIT: second video re-uploaded with louder audio.

That Channel was called Viva 2 (or Viva II); the show 2 Rock. It was a really good channel!

Part 3:

Eamonn, you are right, the Press Kit interview was transcripted in Newsletter 37. I'd forgotten that. I've confirmed that the interview I've uploaded isn't from that, although it does cover a lot of the same ground.

Also Eamonn, you did send me a few interviews, but I don't remember that one, but I will check later.

I don't suppose you have any footage from the 4Scott concert, Will?

I do have the footage from the television broadcast, which featured Babies and Sunrise. So that could go on YouTube when I have time.

Wow, the holy grail of Pulp on tv (next to JMTV Rocks from the same period). Always wanted to see this. Thanks again, Will!
By the way, the presenter is very familiar, can't think of his name. Anyone?

Eamonn, I'm glad it was of interest. I suppose 'JMTV Rocks' is the holy grail now, hopefully it will turn up again one day.

The presenter looks familiar to me as well, but I don't recall his name.

Today's uploads:

Another interview with Jarvis. It's from Deadeye Music Video Magazine, sometime in 1995.

Help the Aged at V96, Chelmsford. Just an audience recording, but I thought it was worth sharing because it wasn't included in the radio broadcast of the concert. The lyrics are slightly unfinished. Only the second time it had been played.

You're spoiling us now! Very interesting indeed, possibly the earliest footage of Pulp taken from a regular punter in the crowd?
Funny to think now when everyone sticks up their camera phone footage of gigs on youtube these days. I wonder how big the camcorder was!

Who is on rhythm guitar... Anthony Genn or Manners possibly?

As an aside, did anyone see Pablo Cook (percussionist who played with Pulp on their arena tour in 1996) on Never Mind The Buzzcocks a while back? He was the star of the identity parade!

A few 90s audience video recordings do exist, but generally they're not very watchable due to poor picture/sound quality. I suppose decent equipment was very expensive, and yes, bulky! The earliest I know of for Pulp is Reading '94 (there's fortunately a professional recording of that too). The V96 recording is actually by far the best of the audience videos I've got from the 90s - the person filming is well positioned and the sound is okay.

The extra guitarist looks like Antony Genn to me. On Common People there's yet another guitarist, who I can't identify. At some point I might upload that too to see if anybody knows.
