I like a lot of Scottish stuff lately. I love Sons and Daughters, but I don't know if I'd consider them "the best." I just like the cut of their jib. On the other hand, I think Emma Pollock's solo albums are flat-out amazing and really underrated.
I loved Art Brut's first album, but they've been pretty hit-and-miss since them.

Kasabian, I have found listenable but a bit bland. They're ok I suppose. I've got Spotify on my mobile with a premium subscription so please feel free to suggest some bands/artists for me.
I know it's debatable but I think the biggest bands of the 90's would be Pulp, blur, Oasis, and a couple others.... Radiohead.
What bands putting out albums now, would you say are the best? I think it'd be Kasabian myself.
I suppose, rather predictably, I'd say Arctic Monkeys. Suck It & See and Submarine soundtrack were about the best things I have heard from a British band in the last 12 months. The disappointment is that they have been knocking around for a few years now, and there haven't been any other British bands that I have got to like since.
I seem to be more interested in North American bands these days. Arcade Fire, Real Estate and Black Keys get more of a spin than any British band. It's like 1992 again. Pre-suede, pre-Pulp ....
Cat's Eyes is really amazing! Only 1/2 British. Primal Scream are putting out a new record soon and I think they're amazing. Massive Attack. I like Florence Welch a lot though I know a lot of people don't. Summer Camp are pretty good as well though I dunno if I'd lump them in with 'best'. The Horrors and S.C.U.M are also both really great!

I didn't like the horrors all that much, but then I saw them live and it totally changed my mind. The sounded really good, and put on a good show. I would like to hear the song they did w/ Gorillaz ... hopefully it will get released eventually.
S.C.U.M are fantastic. The new Maccabees stuff is pretty ok, Pulled Apart By Horses are quite interesting. British Sea Power are one of the best of the past decade, Arctic Monkeys are excellent. However, I feel the last decade has been pretty poor for British guitar bands, it's probably because I'm an early 90's died in the wool indie kid!

P-Sides is long overdue...
Anyone know where I can get hold of the song Gorillaz did with D12? Short of buying the Bad Company soundtrack that is.
Wu Lyf, Mazes and Lanterns on the Lake put out pretty ace albums last year. All that wishy washy US indie- Real Estate, Girls etc- is very, very dull. Utterly non committal.
Bat for Lashes and Emmy the Great would be the most interesting newer artists from that side of the water. The big Brit bands from the past decade all bore me, like Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Kooks, Bloc Party, etc.
The debuts from Summer Camp and Yuck were good.
