Hah, I've got a soft spot for Kingmaker. They were kind of my first indie band. In some ways they were the prototype for a lot of aspects of Britpop, which might have partly been why they became the least cool band on the planet as soon as Britpop came along. Although the fact that Queen Jane (their biggest hit) was, in the cold light of day, a bit embarrassing probably didn't help either! Ten Years Asleep was great though.

I suppose at the very least Loz was a character but he always came across as arrogant, ignorant and very unsympathetic. I have just watched Really Scrape the Sky as it's the song of theirs that has the most memories for me and I still think it's rubbish!
I dunno - they had three or four top 20 hits, music paper front covers, all that sort of thing. All but written out of history after 1993 though - we don't have backlashes like that anymore!

I was trying to remember if they had any music paper fron t covers but none came to mind. There certainly a band that hasn't endured though, to the point where if you hadn't heard of them at the time you've got very little chance of stumbling upon them now. Unless you come here of course!
