Dangerous thing to post, for all the Suede fans on here there's as many that couldn't give a stuff!
What I've heard sounds pretty meh to be honest. If Anderson's solo stuff and new Suede material are interchangeable, which judging by these they're not far off being, there's little point to at least one of them.

Perhaps dangerous, but I thought there are likely to be a fair few people who'd at least have a passing interest. And mightn't have the links to find out about this sort of stuff.
Like everthing Brett has been involved in since 1997, I want to like it but...
In fact, that's such a powerful "but..." that I'm not going to check out the Youtube stuff or indeed seek out any of this music until it's thrust under my nose.
But then I felt the same about Jarvis' solo material (which I now love) till someone bought me the Jarvis album for Christmas in '06 and I had to actually listen to it properly rather than hear odd bits and go "meh".

Yeah, it's become a cliché to say that after Butler left they were a shadow of the band but unfortunately it's true to a large extent, imo. There's always a smattering of decent stuff when Brett releases new material but equally there's always more than a handful of lyrics to cringe at and often uninspiring backing music too.
I really enjoyed listening to the reissues of the earlier albums that came out in the summer, and went to a couple of the Brixton album shows in May which were great nights too. It must be such a frustrating thing having peaked so early as an artist though he obviously wouldn't subscribe to that and more power to him. It's another of the quirks of Pulp that they arguably kept improving or at least evolving almost to the end of their output.
I'd love to hear Leo Abraham's thoughts about having worked with both Brett and Jarvis, albeit only as an extra touring-guitarist with the latter.
Bernard Butler's first solo record is a classic for me, such good tunes. As for Suede, i like the odd tracks but i never managed to get into their LPs. They were more of a singles band really.
Ah nice - I'm pleased to hear they're putting new stuff together. I hope they make another album, I'll definitely buy it - but getting a bit jaded with the new dawns Anderson seems to go through every now and again.
I reckon there's a good album's (and a half, perhaps) worth of absolutely brilliant stuff (albeit a weird disjointed one) since Head Music, incorporating all Anderson's done. A handful of songs from each "project" are stunning, it's just a shame that I suppose the rest are a bit meh - at best.
I love Brett's solo album Wilderness, but mostly cos I just can't get enough of his voice and piano ballad material. I am a massive Suede fan as well as Pulp, in fact they're my two most favourite groups. In my opinion both Brett and Jarvis are joint holders of the most individual, interesting and important lyrical minds and musical voices of the last 20 years.
