Enjoy a piece of poetry by the Blind Bard of Crookes, from his book "Smithy Rhymes and Stithy Chimes: Or the Short and Simple Annals of the Poor, Spelt by the Unlettered Muse of Your Humble Bard"
I like "starved to death cripple with finger bones bare" and "If Earth won't for shattered humanity speak" and "the foulness would not have been cleared in a day"
Remind you of anyone?
Yes, the Blind Bard of Crookes was in fact one Joseph Senior, and now you know where this is going - Joseph was the brother of our very own Russell Senior's Great Great Great Grandfather.
Sarah, I'm an obsessive genealogist. I recently traced one of my Great Great Grandad's sisters to Otley (like the song) where she set about getting matched and hatched to a Senior. I was wondering if I could connect her with our dear Russell, but no such luck. Yet! I stumbled across the Blind Bard as a byproduct of my research.
There are a few more of Senior Sr's poems knocking around. He writes a lot about Dark, Weird Things. And also quite a bit about God-type things. I think Russell's forte is more the former.
but didn't he buy it for like, 16 bucks or something? i think the original guy didn't care too much for it but Russell wanted to preserve it somehow. he was creditied on the album too.
Alright Stephen, next challenge: let's trace the six degrees from Russell to Kevin Bacon...
Just having a look into David Kurley and New Model Soldier and found this guy on ebay trying to sell a 7" single of theirs for all of £200! - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-MODEL-SOLDIER-UK-1981-7-PS-great-DIY-minimal-synth-/260843848887 - any takers? Anyone?
