...was 15 years ago today, Pulpwiki'ls lovely new ''on this day'' feature tells me. A decade and a half since Pulp's commercial zenith (''what? we get to choose who we want to play at this festival? Ok!'') and at the time, almost a full year of touring and success about to come to an end. Help The Aged's live debut - a worrying portent as to the cloud that would hang over the group for the following year or two. And Mr Senior's last public Pulp performance for, well nearly, ever. Was anyone on here there? It would be nice if footage of it finally emerges. __________________ Tell mester to fck off!*

I was at the one in Warrington at 16 years old, one of my first ever big gigs and my first mosh :). Can't believe it was 15 years ago though, where has my life gone :( It was a great gig, lovely weather and some really good bands playing. I remember seeing Supergrass, Longpigs (wow I loved them), Super Furry Animals, Gorky's, Cast and Tiger I think. I still had a V96 t-shirt I bought from there until a couple of years ago, think I still have the ticket though. Sadly I never took a camera or recording equipment with me as I would love to hear the Pulp set again. I'm sure the Chelmsford date was actually broadcast on the radio though, I might still have it on tape in my parents actually, I'll check when I go to see them next. __________________

I went to V96 in Warrington too! It was my first concert too, I was 17 at the time and I went with a neighbour who lived across the street. It was her that got me into Pulp back in '95, as she had Different Class. I remember listening to it a few times then went and got my own copy! The most prominent warm up act I can remember was Jonathan Richman. He sang a song called Big Bass Drumer straight From The Hospy-tal. It became an injoke between my neighbour. I remember towards the end of his set a chap a few rows ahead shouted "Get off, your fucking shit!" LOL!! And I also remember guys walking about with backpacks on dispensing Liptons Iced Tea I have good memories of that day. The best part is they played Mile End, which was my favourite song at the time :) __________________ Uncle Psychosis sez "Party Harder (Is that possible?)"

Yes I thought they played Mile End I just wasn't sure, I don't suppose you know the whole setlist or is that asking a bit too much. :) It was nicking my sisters His 'n' Hers CD from her bedroom that got me into Pulp. Instantly fell in love with it and then Different Class came out I just had to see them. __________________

I was there in Chelmsford too. It was my first Pulp gig and a boiling hot day. Jarvis told us he'd dressed up in a gorilla suit earlier in the day, so he could mingle with the crowd - he must have been sweltering inside. I have a cassette of the whole set that I recorded off the radio when it was broadcast a couple of weeks later. Defo remember Mile End being played, and Do You Remember the First Time, but I think the rest of the set was heavily Different Class. I would be public spirited and go and get my cassette so I can type up the set list for you all, but I have had a drunken accident involving a BMX bike, and am in too much pain to move - sorry! __________________ I can't help it, I was dragged up

Stayed at the main stage all day which means having to see Cast, but did enjoy Supergrass. Pulp were amazing, though. Almost literally life changing. I've seen them play better gigs and have better setlists since, but there's something special about that first time. __________________ swaying slightly, drunk on the sun, I suppose

my first ever gig/festival - warrington v96 - have very found memories. __________________ Go Easy, step lightly, stay free. - The Clash. I put the sexy in dyslexia.
