...A Touch Of Glass (1999/2000)

Dates: 31 November 1999 - 333 Club, London

25 June 2000 - Scott Walkers Meltdown, Royal Festival Hall, London

...? And, if so, are they accessible...? :)

I would love to see/hear the live version of Cuckoo Jarvis did at Nick Cave's Meltdown in 1999. There's an image still of it on acrylicafternoons.

Did anyone ever track down a recording of that?

I never understood why Cuckoo is said to be a ''reworking'' of Clarence Ashley's The Coo Coo Bird:

It sounds nowt like it. Lyrical inspiration maybe and it shares ''The cukoo is a pretty bird'' line but little else. (Fantastic finger movement on the guitar by Mr Ashley it has to be said)

Nay, that's the Meltdown 1999 show, not Touch of Glass. The one I have is mostly instrumental, with slightly shaky renditions of My Body May Die and Scott W's On Your Own Again at the end.

Yes, I've got a copy of this. "Venice" is the same as "Roald Dahl" from the "Flux" bootleg, "My Chopper" is a chilled out instrumental piece. "Otley" is an early instrumental of "The Trees" and "Forever In My Dreams" is also instrumental.

"Fire Island" is definitely the highlight for me, it sounds like it could have been the backing for something off "Freaks" and makes excellent use of the Glass Harmonica. They then go on to perform "My Body May Die" and a cover of Scott Walker's "On Your Own Again" which doesn't seem to go down too well. It's definitely an interesting show to hear though.

Ok. But it won't be straight away. I'll upload it by weekend.
