I was wondering whether this might be feasible/interesting for people on here. On the gig pages of the Fall's website (http://www.visi.com/fall/gigography/gig98.html for example) they - like on the wiki - give details of setlists etc. on the relevant gig articles. However, they also include - in green - Mark E. Smith's varying introductions to songs, as well as any lyrical changes from the recorded versions.
Might it be interesting to do the same for the Pulp wiki pages? Some of Jarvis' introductions really should be captured for all to enjoy...
I like the idea of including some of Jarvis' comments and introductions to songs. It has occurred to me in the past, but I've never got around to it. If you want to, I definitely encourage you to have a go.
I can help with working out the best way to display the information on the wiki page.
Does that seem like a good idea, or is it a bit excessive? I don't propose to always add every word Jarvis says, but in that case it seemed interesting to do so.
For what it's worth, I'm not too fussed about this. All these quotes come from taped concerts so if you find the show you don't need the transcription. It's probably a waste of time for you. That sounds a bit rude but it isn't you just can't hear how I'm saying it. Not to say there aren't some particularly interesting comments. For example, the intro to Acrylic Afternoons on teh Sheffield Sound City gig about Julie Jones is rather interesting. I can remember some things he said at Sheffield City Hall '95 where he seemed to be in a particularly grumpy and pissed off mood, screaming at the crowd in german! Did you get the idea for this from Passions Just Like Mine? If not check out the Live History section of that site. That's a good model to use in my opinion. I'll write up my memories of Pulp gigs if you're interested?
Thanks for your honest opinion. The examples linked to above are experimental, and I am genuinely interested in what people think. I don't consider your opinions at all rude.
If I do add any more quotes, I'll probably be a lot more selective and only include the particularly interesting ones. I appreciate that interest in them is going to be limited. I've been adding a lot of detail to old gigs recently (press reviews, flyers, tickets etc) and it's all very obscure really.
Regarding Passions Just Like Mine, I am vaguely familar with that site, but it's not really been an influence on how I've set-up the wiki. It is interesting looking at how other sites do things. I like the long descriptions/reviews included about each gig on there. If anybody wants to write something similar for any Pulp shows (based on recordings and/or memories) to be included on the wiki, they would be very welcome. I'm really not very good at that writing that sort of thing, so I've not attempted to do it myself.

Yes, please do, your memories of gigs are definitely of interest.

You're welcome, I didn't want to come over like an arse though.
For me these are some of the best bits, I've got loads of these myself and have been scouring my old music papers lately for more. I'll definitely get a scanner soon so I can add my stuff in. I get ridiculously excited about a one line mention of Pulp in a music paper from 92. Sad really!
