Who's going ?

I can't wait to see Pulp in Brittany again. Does anyone know if Russell will be there tomorrow?

Not that I'm going, but I do hope he is. I hate the idea of him being merely a guest onstage at the Uk gigs rather than being a proper Pulper again!

The Frenchies are being treated pretty well with choice of setlist this summer.

It was a very good concert. It was really easy to be at the front because people were there for other acts like Scorpions or Snoop Dogg.

Russel was not there.

It was a good suprise to hear Lipgloss and A little Soul this time.

Jarvis said he would walk around after his performance and so he did. My friends and i met him during Scorpions' set. He was very nice, he introduced to us his son.

I later saw Jarvis with Steve watching Snoop Dogg.

I will upload a few pictures later.

Weird that Russell wasn't at Carahaix, but was at Dour.

And furthermore...Lipgloss without Russell? That seems most unsuitable!

I agree. He could have made the effort to come but reaching Belgium the next day was another long trip.

I don't know. I couldn't hear/understand what Jarvis said when he introduced him.

Surely if they play it as part of the main set at a festival, it is destined to be in the setlist at Brixton?

I think  i've found out  who the guy is. He's called Franck Marty. I think he tours for a famous french singer Olivia Ruiz who was playing before Pulp on the same stage last thursday.

I'm pretty sure that's him looking at this picture :

Dear all,

I am new ( I have been reading this forum for years and years but now it is time for me to add some thoughts concerning Pulp)
I am a french fan and went to this very popular and diverse festival which is Les Vieilles Charrues, a place where programmers buy artists but not a unique kind of listeners. who can be a fan of the indie pop pulp, the stadium scorpions and snoop doggy dog at the same time ???
Anyway, i really loved the performance, they arrived at 8.50pm and jarvis arrived like a warrior on stage as he always do, the crowd from the front was preety crazy and i was in it.
One problem with that performance in France is that they played during the day, the neons letters were not lighted ( also during the intro ) and that was a bit strange to see after have watched so many videos of them performing in primavera etc..
An other problem was that they avoided 3 very goods songs in their setlist ( pink glove, i spy and feelingcalledlove) but why? i do not really understand their choice. ok, playing by day is relax but playing catchy songs is also something to do to motivate people ( they also played the other songs we know they play) but a litlle soul was too quiet ( as the 3rd song! before something changed and sorted! not very a sweeting moment at the front ). They also played live bed show which was good but i was waiting for an outro ( the V96 one in particular) but it did not happened.
As a conclusion, i would like to say that I REALLY appreciated their performance (i had a backache and had dolors in my feets after : yes it is true).
I really hope to see them again this summer. I am sure they will do something in Paris.

This literally sent a chill through me...just the thought of hearing them play that song at Brixton excites me.  :) This is why I'm forcing my husband to fly to London with me in the middle of an extremely busy work week.

Dolors...Jacques Delors? Only kidding, it's been a long time since I studied French but it must be similar to the Spanish word for pain.

I can imagine hearing A Little Soul at a festival in the sun, early in the set being a bit odd.
But the worst thing about going to see an artist (especially if you love them) is knowing the recent setlists off by heart and fully expecting them to play those songs (or at least your favourites from those songs).
It's impossible to please everyone (I don't mean that as a dig, just that we all have our own preferences. As you said, you really appreciated the performance regardless).

I'd love to see the setlist for this gig. I checked setlist.fm but it seems to be lacking Lipgloss and A Little Soul! Does anyone have the full one?

Also OH BLOOMIN' ECK! in regards to O.U. at Melt. Yeah I'd say it's looking pretty good for Brixton. Though I'm ashamed to say I don't know all the words to that song, might have to learn them, just for such an occasion! Fingers crossed.

I noticed something kinda interesting in pkerga's video. Pre-reunion, when they played "A Little Soul" they had a sample of the opening riff from the album version playing throughout. In this version, it sounds like they're playing the opening riff entirely live.

Yes, the version they played seemed more like the Lafayette remix by Kid Loco than the TIH version.

That's ok. I reckon Jarvis doesn't really know the words to some of his own songs judging by the amount of slip ups he's been making!
